Yesterday evening a visit from Cesily and Cippy came with the reminder that laughter is very good medicine: So this is an official request for funny movies, or Utube videos, or Netflix suggestions. Just in case the antics of my three darlings and the chickens aren’t enough.
So far feeling better than expected with my first snake medicine treatment- ginger and the the anti-nausea medication they gave me seem to be holding it at bay. I am finding myself a bit foggy in the language department, but as most of you know that is not that unusual. Today I took a nap, ate some miso soup, and watched birds out the front window eat the sunflower seeds Martin put out. Planning tonight to get the tree trimmed for Solstice.
May the renewed light shine peace and love on the world.

P.S. Funny movie suggestions very welcome. Anyone? Thanks in advance.
Are those your girls in Astoria?
Team Svensen.
The Big Lebowski
Thanks Debbie!
Really lovely chuck photo.
In the chuck vein, Muriel’s Wedding–definitely one of the finest movies ever made(Aussie)
My Cousin Vinny–ditto(US)
Elling–Swedish, subtitled, wonderful
The Life of Brian(so seasonally appropriate)
The Sapphires–I think that’s the name of it. They have it a VH and it’s a true story about three Aussie aboriginal girls who start a rhythm and blues band in the late 1960’s.
Any clips from Whose Line is it Anyway? on YouTube. I watch those a lot!
British Office
Parks & Recreation
Christopher Guest films: I own Best in Show, the Mighty Wind & Waiting for Guffman
Moone Boy (might only be on Hulu)
The IT crowd
Portlandia (if you’ve never watched it, you must)
I’ll stop now… I watch too much TV.

Waking Ned Devine
If you’d like to laugh hard enough to wake the neighbors and to feel your spirits soar, there are three movies I’d recommend: Waking Ned Devine, Waiting for Guffman and The Gods Must Be Crazy. Here are links to reviews by Roger Ebert…

I love you I love you I love you, Iris Daire…….
too often….
Hey Iris-
When you started talking about Pookas the first thing that came to my mind was “Darby O’Gill and the little people”. Sean Connery’s first film ever, I believe. If you haven’t seen it, the entirety is on youtube. Here’s the bit where Darby chases the Pooka: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh7cpzGHriQ
Your good cheer is missed greatly at work.
I could not agree more with Waking Ned Devine and Waiting For Guffman. Also, laughed a ton at The Big Lebowski.
So here is my (kind of long) list. First, movies:
Lars and the Real Girl
Some Like it Hot
Little Miss Sunshine
Arsenic and Old Lace
Something About Mary
And for a quick laugh, some youtube:
This interview of Sarah Silverman http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e5K5n4TO928

And from our own collection: This youtube video of Murphy talking about Monsters http://youtu.be/mBSTDQ1EIvE and this more recent one of him trying not to fall asleep http://youtu.be/EPMhRUhdAgY
That’s all for now,
